Some persons with chronic neurological diagnoses such as Parkinson's Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, and Stroke, will continue to benefit from Physical Therapy services long-after insurance benefits have run out.
There is evidence to suggest that physical therapy may moderately delay the loss of functional independence associated with Parkinson's Disease. After a stroke, most insurance plans will typically only cover rehab for 12 months, although research supports that many patients may continue to improve their functional independence over time.
Because Impetus PT provides out-of-network care, we charge one low rate for all patients, giving them the freedom to come and go as they need, without limitations imposed by insurance reimbursement. This puts the power in the hands of the patient and therapist to best coordinate a goal oriented plan of care that just makes sense. We are Physical Therapy OTC.
